Did you know that the only way to produce a white tiger is through severe inbreeding of brother to sister, father to daughter and mother to son?

Did you know that there is no such species as a Royal White Bengal Tiger?

For even with their increased population, the “Royal White Bengal Tiger” with his stunning white fur coat cannot survive in the wild. No, he is not a gem of nature. He is the result of man’s manipulation to create a profitable caged product for zoos, theme parks, circus and stage performers and yes, even a restaurant. Anywhere people will pay for the opportunity to admire this “majestic species”.

But the White Tiger is not majestic at all. Nor is it a species. Instead it is a genetic mutation, the result of severe, hazardous inbreeding…mating father to daughter, mother to son, brother to sister…usually with cruel and barbaric results.

To create a white tiger the parents must have a mutant gene, the result of inbreeding. Only one in four cubs will be white and of those 80% will be stillborn. The survivors may be deformed. Often 30 to 60 cats must be destroyed in order in get one profitable white tiger cub.

Dr. Laughlin is widely recognized internationally for his expertise in the care and management of zoological animals, especially zoological cats and elephants. He has an international consulting practice limited to zoological animals and when he completed his research into the accurate genealogy of the white tiger he had well over 250 tigers in his practice alone. He also completed a landmark four-year study in the 1970’s determining the efficacy, dosage and safety of a modified-live trivalent FVRC-P vaccine for use on zoological cats. That study included 224 zoological cats representing 19 different species and the results of that vaccination study have saved the lives of thousands of captive zoological cats. Dr. Laughlin has graciously agreed to be a Consultant for the care and management of our extensive collection of zoological cats at “Big Cat Rescue.”

Zabu was born at a circus and roadside zoo who tried to breed her to a lion to create White Ligers. Zabu, like most white tigers, has genetic flaws. She has a harelip and cleft palate…no upper lip to protect her teeth. So when the circus went bankrupt no exhibitor wanted her. She now resides at Big Cat Rescue. She had been spayed to improve her health and prevent future liters.

  1. this is very sad andn i do not understand why the human nature is for greed. we as humans feel we need money for survival witch is true but making money at anothers expense is too bad. if the breeding of these animals continue it would be as cruil as purposly giving some one a life filled with torture. ALL of these tigers are born with these deformities whether they are visible or not. making money off of bringing harm to a life is cruil. we say that the white tiger is majestic. it is not it is tortured and unlove. it would be different if they were not kept for money and if they were kept and spayed and neutered. if we stop the reproduction of this species now, these creatures will be extinct but it is better than the suffering of tortureous murders.
    take your pick
a genetic mutation continuously spreading and bringing torture to their lives
or not breeding these animals and giving the living ones the best life they can get. in order to do this, we have to protest against zoos and not see these tortured animals if we have to pay people to torture them. that is a double loss.

  2. …..Fuckers….How can they do this?…..Its going to be the end of modern civilization…….Are greed is what will kill us…..a majestica beast….being tormented….I didnt know…..til now. Im going to try and stop this….whether its by protesting or force….it needs to stop….I hope all the fuck tards doing this shit die a most horrible death.

  3. I would just like to point out that there are white tigers in the wild, not all of them are mistreated, and that youtube video only showed three tigers in total. There has only been one case where the tiger was deformed like that one, and in general tigers are endangered and a lot of the NORMAL ones die at birth, white tigers are no different and it’s completely natural. while i do agree that a lot of them are treated badly, try doing your homework before you make accusations.

  4. There are many breeding programs out there that do not use imbreeding to produce white cubs. For example, Dream world in Australia brought in a normal orange female bengal tiger to breed with their white tiger, Mohan. The result was one orange with dark stripes(Sultan), two orange with light stripes (Rama and Sita), and a white tiger (Taj). All Four tigers were hand raised and are still living on Tiger Island. There is a program that comes on the aniaml planet every once in awhile called the Awesome Pawsome, which tells the story of these beautiful tigers first year. You can check out Tiger Island at http://www.dreamworld.com.au/content/drw_2008_standard.asp?name=TigerIsland

The fact of the matter is that people are more attracted to white tigers. Therefore, having a white tiger on hand will help bring in more money. Conservation of these animals depends greatly on these funds. Don’t get me wrong, I completely disagree with imbreeding. Producing white tigers can be done without imbreeding. It may take longer and will not produce as many white cubs at a time but they will have a better chance of being healthy. Now don’t go crazy and keep breeding until a white cub is produced. If you can’t guarentee a safe healthy home for orange cubs, then don’t breed them.

I also disagree with breeding lions and tigers to produce ligers and tigons. If it doesn’t not happen in the wild then it does not need to happen in captivity. These animals are breed purely for profit. I find it hard to believe that a true conservationist can be so cruel to these beautiful cats.

I hate circuses, traveling petting zoos private owners, and anyone else that keep these animals caged up. I also hate the thought of them being on captivity but I’d rather see them in captivity than extinct.

If anyone feels that I am wrong or have gotten my facts wrong, please let me know. I am studing to be a wildlife conservationist. I truely love these animals and want my great great children to enjoy their existance.

  5. It seems to me that if you guys thought about it, in the “human wild,” asians would have never mated with say, a native mesoamerican. It makes me wonder then if you would be so against the breeding of individuals from those particular groups?

I say down with the breeders, release all the lions, and let them breed who they wanna breed when they wanna do it.

  6. you people have no right to treat these anamils the way u do! how would u like to be breaded and if u werent good enough be sold.I dont see the point in caging so many of theses animals(not just tigers)the deserve to be in their natural habitats. These poor animals are just trying to live there lives like you and I, let them do as they please we do.The only problem I see in this is that we(humans) are recking the earth and all the animals on it are suffuring(even us). I beleive that these animals consider us a threat with what we have done to them. If you have nothing better to do than animal crulty you have a problem,so instead of hurting these beautiful creaters why not help them ???? I say yes although I work at an animal shelter i feel this is completely wrong on all level.I will leave you to answer that question for yourself.

  7. Even me,a ten years old child fell that humans put money in first place.how can they do that?
